The College of Continuing and Professional Education at Kennesaw State University has partnered with the Certified Financial Planner Board to launch a brand-new 14-month Certified Financial Planner™ Program this fall.

“The financial planning field is one of the fastest growing professions,” said Jennifer Henderson, program manager for the Certified Financial Planner™ Program. “Individuals who are looking to secure their financial future need a professional, competent advisor to get there. Professionals who have extensive educational training and the CFP® Certification will have the best opportunities in the workforce.”

The Certified Financial Planner™ certification course provides existing and future financial professionals with the skills and training needed to deliver comprehensive and accurate personal financial planning services to their clients. The robust program is taught by five industry professionals, Tana Gildea, CFP®, Certified Public Accountant and Certified College Planning Specialist; Jason B. Culp, CFP®, Certified Employee Benefits Specialist, Retirement Plan Associate Certification and FLMI designation; Christian Mauser, CFP®; Ben Clark, CFP®, Chartered Financial Consultant® and Accredited Asset Management Specialist℠; Cheryl Richardson, Attorney at Law.

“Our instructors bring a wealth of knowledge to this program,” Henderson said. “They will ensure students understand the material. They know the industry and have years of experience in the field.”

Financial planners looking to achieve their CFP® certification, career changers interested in financial planning and professionals who are specialists in a related field who are interested in learning how everything works will benefit from the Certified Financial Planner™ certification course. Upon successful completion of this program, students are eligible to apply for the CFP® Certification Examination.

Topics covered in the program include the fundamentals of financial planning, insurance planning, income tax planning, investment planning, estate planning, and retirement savings and income planning. The program concludes with a capstone project, where students are tasked with the development of a financial plan.

KSU is an established institution with the CFP Board and is registered with the CFP Board of Standards, Inc. which administers the exam. The program is approved for VA Education Benefits. For more information, visit ccpe.kennesaw.edu or call 470-578-6765.
