LGE Community Credit Union set out to spread holiday cheer over the month of December through the “Gift It Forward” campaign. Presents were delivered to members, social media followers and those in the community.
Gift It Forward included delivering baked goods to local everyday heroes at the police, fire and EMT stations. LGE also gave Starbucks coffee to Twitter and Instagram followers and Publix gift cards to Facebook followers.
Individualized care packages were sent to the friends and family members of LGE employees who are currently serving overseas, thanking them for their service and willingness to be away from home during the holidays. Destinations included as far away as Germany, Kuwait and Japan.
The highlight of Gift It Forward took place at the annual Christmas breakfast where employees gathered to share a meal but more importantly to give $120,000 dollars to local charities and individuals in need through the LGE Community Outreach Foundation. The LGE Foundation organizes and conducts fundraisers to raise money to contribute to local non-profit organizations.
