After more than 23 years in healthcare leadership and firsthand experience navigating the challenges of caring for aging parents, Melissa Adams has launched Home Helpers Home Care of West Marietta to provide personalized in-home care and trusted guidance for families throughout Cobb County.
Home Helpers Home Care of West Marietta offers the industry’s leading model for comprehensive care with its unique care program, Cared-4SM, which ensures clients receive comprehensive care in four key areas: Personal Care and Companionship, Nutrition and Meal Planning, 24/7 Emergency Response, and Wellness Calls. Adams and her team work with individuals and families in Marietta, Kennesaw, Powder Springs, Acworth, Austell, Mableton and the surrounding areas.
“When you are talking to a care provider, you want to feel like your family is the only thing that matters. That’s the standard we hold ourselves to every day. Our commitment is to listen first, communicate openly, and provide the kind of personal attention every family deserves.” Melissa said.
Co-owner, Chris Adams, and her parents played an important role in inspiring Melissa to open the business and helping her to understand what it takes to support loved ones as their care needs change. Melissa’s mother serves as the primary day-to-day caregiver for her father, while Melissa helps manage many of the financial, healthcare coordination, and medical-related aspects of her parents’ care. Meanwhile Chris works closely with his brother to help coordinate and manage his mother’s care needs, giving the family firsthand experience balancing caregiving responsibilities, communication, scheduling, and long-term planning for an aging parent.
“We are part of that sandwich generation – we’ve walked in many of our clients’ shoes and we understand what it takes to provide the level of care you want for your loved ones. We are looking forward to bringing a needed service to this community and to making a difference for our neighbors,” Melissa said.
In addition to her personal caregiving experience, Melissa brings more than 23 years of healthcare leadership experience, leading strategic initiatives, operations, client partnerships, and teams focused on improving healthcare outcomes. As a Certified Senior Advisor (CSA)®, she combines professional expertise with firsthand caregiving insight to help families navigate the often-overwhelming decisions that come with illness, recovery, and long-term care. Co-owner, Chris brings more than 20 years of business development and relationship management experience across the education technology, educational publishing, and retail industries. Before joining HMH in 2022, Melissa and Chris spent nearly a decade owning and operating two Edible Arrangements locations, including launching a second store from the ground up.
Adams believes great care begins long before a caregiver arrives at the door. Her philosophy — Start with heart. Lead with intention.— guides every interaction with clients, families, caregivers, and community partners.
“Families often don’t know where to begin when someone they love needs help. Whether a family needs home care, community resources, or simply someone to help them understand their options, I want them to feel informed, supported, and confident in the decisions they make. If we can make that journey a little easier, we’ve done our job.” Melissa said.
Beyond providing in-home care, Adams is committed to helping families connect with community resources, understand veteran benefits, explore long-term care options, and develop care plans that promote independence and quality of life.
Families seeking personalized, professional in-home care can call Home Helpers for a free in-home consultation and safety assessment to determine the best care plan for their loved one. Home Helpers ensures that caregivers are fully trained, background checked, and matched to clients based on individual needs.

When you’re looking for someone to care for a loved one, you want to know they will be treated with the same compassion, dignity, and respect you would provide yourself. At Home Helpers Home Care of West Marietta, that’s exactly what we’re committed to every day. I’m Chris Adams, co-owner of Home Helpers Home Care of West Marietta, and I believe caring for others begins with listening, building trust, and understanding what matters most to each family.
Home Helpers Home Care of West Marietta offers the industry’s leading model for comprehensive care with its unique care program, Cared-4SM, which ensures clients receive comprehensive care in four key areas: Personal Care and Companionship, Nutrition and Meal Planning, 24/7 Emergency Response, and Wellness Calls.
My wife and co-owner, Melissa Adams, and my mother have had a profound impact on my decision to help build this business. As my mother has lived with Parkinson’s disease, my brother and I have worked together to help coordinate her care while balancing family responsibilities and full-time careers. Through that experience, I’ve learned firsthand the importance of understanding an aging loved one’s perspective, communicating openly as a family, and making every day count. Like many of the families we serve, we’ve experienced the challenges of balancing work, raising a family, and caring for aging parents.
Professionally, I bring more than 20 years of business development, relationship management, and leadership experience across the education technology, educational publishing, and retail industries. I began my career with Textbook Warehouse before Melissa and I spent nearly a decade owning and operating two Edible Arrangements locations, including opening our second store from the ground up. Following our entrepreneurial journey, I returned to the education industry before joining HMH in 2022 as a Senior Field Account Executive, where I’ve been honored to earn both President’s Club and Pinnacle Club recognition. Throughout my career, those experiences have reinforced the importance of exceptional customer service, building strong teams, and creating lasting relationships within the communities I serve.
Building relationships has always been the most rewarding part of my career. I enjoy getting to know people, hearing their stories, and understanding what’s most important to them. Those same principles guide my work with Home Helpers as I build relationships with families, healthcare professionals, and community partners throughout West Cobb.
Outside of work, I enjoy giving back through organizations including Habitat for Humanity, Open Hand Atlanta, and Atlanta Reads. I also enjoy coaching youth sports at the YMCA and spending time on the pickleball court.
I believe families need more than someone to provide care—they need a trusted partner who will listen, communicate, and genuinely care about their loved one’s well-being. My goal is to help families feel supported, provide peace of mind during challenging times, and ensure every client receives the same level of care and respect I would want for my own family.
I look forward to serving individuals and families throughout Marietta, Kennesaw, Powder Springs, Acworth, Austell, Mableton, and the surrounding communities.
