Mount Paran Christian School conducted an extensive national search for the A.D. role.

Mike Walker

We are pleased to announce that MPCS has selected Mike Walker to serve as Director of Athletics beginning July 1, 2025. The search committee chose Mr. Walker at the conclusion of an extensive national search that included talented and experienced administrators from K-12, collegiate, and professional athletic programs across the country. He brings to the job more than 20 years of experience in athletic leadership, most recently at Second Baptist School in Houston, Texas. While there, Coach Walker led a team of more than 70 coaches, completed major facilities upgrades, won 26 District championships, 8 State championships, and placed more than 100 student-athletes in collegiate-athletic programs, more than half of whom went on to play for Division One schools.

Originally from Pennsylvania, he holds a BS from Clarks Summit University in Health and Physical Education, and an MA in Organizational Leadership from Eastern University. As a college basketball player himself, God used his coach to transform his life. He has since dedicated his life as a teacher, coach, and administrator to creating transformational experiences for student athletes. He encourages his coaches each season to make space for athletes to know Jesus while playing their sport. His colleagues describe him as one of the premiere Christ-centered athletic administrators in the country, a man with a deep understanding of Christian education, a servant’s heart, and an enormous drive for excellence.

Coach Walker and his wife Jami have been married for 25 years and have three children ages 19, 18, and 15. He commented, “The Walker family is thrilled to join Mount Paran Christian School and become an active part of the community.” Mike will officially begin in July, but will be consulting with MPCS on the final stage of our Varsity Head Football Coach search, completion of the Knox Athletic Performance Center, and other matters of strategic importance for the athletic department.

“God has abundantly blessed MPC, and I am eager to build upon the strong foundation already in place,” Coach Walker added. “My passion is to use the power of sports to positively influence students’ lives through the pursuit of athletic excellence.”
