MPCS is offering free admission for the American Sign Language interpreted performance.
This October, the Arts at Mount Paran Christian School will be presenting The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, a high school drama, for all audiences. Offering evening performances October 8-10, there will also be a special American Sign Language (ASL)-interpreted performance of the drama on Friday, October 9 at 10:00 a.m. in the Kristi Lynn Theatre of the Murray Arts Center. This special performance will be offered free of charge for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community along with those who are attending with them though RSVPs which are required.
Adapted from C.S. Lewis’s beloved story, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe follows four siblings who enter the magical world of Narnia through an old wardrobe and discover a land under the spell of an endless winter. As they encounter the great lion Aslan and the White Witch, they are drawn into a story of courage, sacrifice, hope, and restoration.
For this special performance, two certified interpreters will make the production accessible to its intended audience through live ASL interpretation. The performance will also include a question and answer time involving Mount Paran Christian School students and teachers, extending the school’s commitment to making the arts a welcoming place to connect and share experiences. Multiple levels of ASL are offered in the MPCS high school to satisfy the world language requirement.
The October 9 ASL presentation is a reserved community performance and not open to the general public, although tickets may be purchased for the other performances through https://mpcs.booktix.com/.
