The National Association for Female Executives (NAFE) has named WellStar Health System one of the Top 10 Nonprofit Companies for Executive Women for 2017 in recognition of organizations that identify and advance women through their ranks. WellStar has earned a spot on this prestigious list eight years in a row.
“At WellStar, we are always looking for opportunities to support our team and create opportunities for growth,” said Candice Saunders, president & CEO of WellStar Health System. “As a not-for-profit health system, we have an unwavering focus on providing excellent patient care. By building a strong team of dynamic caregivers, we are better able to care for our patients.”
WellStar has a robust set of benefits for team members, which are aimed at creating work-life balance, creating trust and improving quality of care. These programs include on-site child care, concierge service and backup care for elderly family members or sick children. These offerings allow team members to focus on work while they are at work and on their families when they are home.
“The NAFE ‘Top 10 Nonprofit Companies’ are the leaders in the U.S. that have moved women into top executive positions and created a culture where talented women are nurtured, promoted and thrive,” says Betty Spence, president of NAFE. “We are very proud to honor their contribution to the advancement of women in the workplace.”
“NAFE emphasizes women with bottom-line and top-line responsibility—the positions that lead to the corner office,” according to Subha V. Barry, vice president and general manager, Working Mother Media (WMM). “In addition, more than a quarter of the board of director’s members at the 2017 NAFE Top 10 nonprofits are women.” NAFE is a division of WMM.
The announcement is featured in the February/March issue of Working Mother and on workingmother.com.
