OUT Georgia’s Power of Connection: 2021 LGBTQ+ Business Summit brought together business and nonprofit leaders from across the state for an inspiring two-day virtual learning experience June 23-24, with special guests and the chamber’s LGBTQ+ and ally Membership taking center stage.
“50 speakers and experts representing OUT Georgia’s Member- and Partner-organizations in Atlanta, Brunswick, Macon, Savannah, and Thomasville converged to deliver 12 high-impact learning moments during an unforgettable LGBTQ+ Business Summit this year,” said Chris Lugo, Executive Director of OUT Georgia Business Alliance.
“Each day, we kicked off with thought-provoking and energizing moments, including special messages from Stacey Abrams, Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, and National LGBT Chamber of Commerce Co-Founder & President Justin Nelson,” Lugo added. “I’m especially proud that we were able to bring our wonderful keynote guests to elevate our event this year, which featured actress, advocate, and CEO Angelica Ross and Georgia State Representative Sam Park!”
OUT Georgia’s Member- and Partner-organizations collaborated to bring the event’s most extensive lineup of session content to date, which featured diverse topics and representation from Atlanta, Brunswick, Macon, Savannah, Thomasville, and beyond.
“Thanks to our passionate Members and Partners, we were able to explore our Power of Connection theme from a wide variety of perspectives, while underscoring the importance of collaboration, visibility, intersectionality, inclusion, access, and institutional- and peer-support for our growing LGBTQ+ community right here in Georgia,” said Lugo.
