Reflecting on Extraordinary Leadership and Outstanding Results

Jeff Fucito’s exacting standards and passion for getting things right have long been a byword at the Mauldin & Jenkins Atlanta office. They are some of the things that make him respected by colleagues and beloved by his clients. As we approach Jeff’s retirement, we wish to formally acknowledge his significant contributions to our firm and to the accounting profession.

Jeff joined Mauldin & Jenkins shortly after graduating from the University of Georgia in 1985. Throughout his career, Jeff has held a variety of leadership roles and, in each one, he has contributed hugely to the growth of the firm and the success of its many clients. Jeff has served as the Firm’s Deputy Managing Partner, working alongside Managing Partner Hanson Borders to expand key service areas. He has also served on the firm’s Executive Committee, providing strategic leadership during a period of unprecedented growth. Furthermore, Jeff has led the firm’s Nonprofit practice, helping it grow from a small group of clients 40 years ago into a large, well-respected practice throughout the industry, further leaving a lasting legacy within the nonprofit community. In addition to these accomplishments, he has also led Mauldin & Jenkins’ Advisory practice, helping it quickly develop into a major area of emphasis for the firm and a significant opportunity for the future.

Jeff’s impressive list of accomplishments reflects his ability to navigate significant challenges with skill and determination. Notably, he led the Atlanta office as Partner in Charge for eight years, which included safely shepherding the office and its clients through the initial years of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Regardless of the circumstances, Jeff has consistently prioritized service and commitment to others- including clients, colleagues, the community, and the accounting profession. He has been a longstanding member of the Cobb Chamber, serving as a board member, a member of the executive committee, and the organization’s finance committee chair. Additionally, he has frequently presented as an expert in his field at conferences.

Although Jeff is leaving behind some very big shoes to fill, he has spent his career helping cultivate the careers of numerous staff members and partners, watching their advancing success and professional development with pleasure.

Thanks to Jeff’s strong leadership and consistent engagement, a host of professionals are committed to delivering the same outstanding level of service and excellence that their role model has always exhibited. Jeff’s impact has been profound, and he leaves a lasting legacy.

“As I reflect on my time here, I am incredibly grateful for the relationships I’ve built and the opportunities I’ve had to mentor and grow alongside such talented professionals,” Jeff shared.
