Reggie Pope II, CPA, Senior Regional Risk Manager for JE Dunn Construction, has been elected board chair of Orange Duffel Bag Initiative (ODBI)
ODBI, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization (www.theodbi.org), provides high school and college students who are homeless or in foster care with advocacy and executive level coaching programs proven to help them achieve education success.
“I am grateful for the support of JE Dunn Construction and honored to accept this responsibility with an organization dedicated to removing barriers and offering hope and opportunity to deserving teens,” said Pope. “ODBI’s board is passionately engaged and actively working to expand our positive impact in the lives of those in need.”
A Certified Public Accountant, Pope joined Orange Duffel Bag Initiative in 2013, seeking, he says, “to be part of a great charitable organization that is making a real difference in the community it serves.” In 2015, he became ODBI treasurer. In January 2017, he was elected to a three-year term as board chairman.
Pope inaugurated ODBI’s annual golf event, which has generated more than $100,000 to date. Since its inception in 2010, ODBI has served more than 700 teens and young adults.
Prior to joining JE Dunn Construction in 2008, Pope worked as a director for AT&T Wireless (now Cingular Wireless) and for Verizon Wireless.
