Teaching of Adult, Nontraditional Learners Topic of Conference Presented by Saint Leo University Virginia Region in Norfolk

Adult and nontraditional learners are making up more of the college and university landscape. Addressing the needs and understanding how to teach this fast-growing population is the topic of an interdisciplinary academic conference presented by the faculty and staff of the Virginia region of Saint Leo University on Saturday, March 17.

The theme for the conference is Educating Adult and Nontraditional Learners for Excellence and Career Success! It will focus on ideas, technologies, and methods that may improve the classroom experience for students and teachers alike. The conference will be held 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Norfolk Airport, 1500 N. Military Highway, Norfolk, VA 23502. Continental breakfast and lunch will be provided. The cost to participate is $25 for students, $75 for Saint Leo faculty, and $125 for all others.

The interdisciplinary conference will provide academic faculty, staff, and students from any college or university the opportunity to present their research or to listen to what others thoughts are about approaches for adult learners. Representatives from all disciplines are welcome.

Instructors and students may participate in a variety of ways.  They may make a 15- to 20-minute presentation to the audience of other educators or students. Students also may present their research through a poster display. For specifics about abstracts and poster proposals, go to Interdisciplinary Academic Conference.
