Even the rainy remnants from Hurricane Patricia didn’t deter golfers from raising $10,000 at The Barter Company’s annual golf tournament for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation – GA Chapter. For the second year in a row, two brain tumor survivors, Courtney Hicks and Natalie Shirley, played along with the other golfers at St. Marlo Country Club in Duluth, GA.

“Even with the wet weather, it was great to see all these supporters come out to help raise money for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation,” said Ric Zampatti, CEO of The Barter Company. “They are a vital organization and need our help so they can support these amazing kids and their families.”

Mary Moore, executive director of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation-GA Chapter, said “We continue to be so honored to receive support from these golfers and The Barter Company. Together we can provide financial, social and emotional support to hundreds of Georgia families who are facing some of the most difficult moments in their lives.”

More than 28,000 children in the United States are living with the diagnosis of a brain tumor, and 13 more cases are identified each day. To learn more about the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation for Children – GA Chapter visit curethekids.org/ga or call 404-252-4107.

The PBTF – GA Chapter was established in July 2014 when the then 30-year-old Brain Tumor Foundation for Children joined with the PBTF. Established in 1983, the Brain Tumor Foundation for Children was the first nonprofit organization in the U.S. to focus on pediatric brain tumor disease.  Now, as the GA Chapter of the PBTF, the Atlanta group continues its direct support of families in addition to raising funds for research.
