The Gift of Music Foundation to host Open House and Ribbon Cutting

Non-profit serves students with instruments and other resources

Cobb County-based non-profit The Gift of Music Foundation and the Cobb Chamber of Commerce will host a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to mark the official opening of the organization’s headquarters facility.

“We have been proud to call Cobb County home since our Foundation first launched in 2015,” said Chris Monroe, Executive Director of The Gift of Music Foundation. “We have been fortunate to continue to grow and expand and found an incredible new home at the Powers Ferry Business Park. Although we moved into the location during the pandemic, we are thrilled to be able to mark this ‘official’ Grand Opening with the help of the Cobb Chamber of Commerce.”

New Facility Highlighted

The event will also allow guests to see and tour the Foundations facility which houses their corporate HQ, an instrument sales floor, state-of-the-art instrument repair shop, and warehouse and other facilities that support their programs. Refreshments and door prizes will be available for guests. The ceremony is scheduled for Thursday April 14th at 3pm, and the Open House continues until 6pm. The Gift of Music Foundation is located at 2030 Powers Ferry Rd SE, Suite 390, Atlanta, GA 30339, inside the Powers Ferry Business Park.

Because Music Matters

The Gift of Music Foundation started in 2015 with the goal of providing instruments and other resources to children who want to begin learning in their school band programs but may face financial obstacles. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit, the organization accepts donated instruments from around the US and through various programs, makes instruments available to students based on financial need. Gift of Music also operates a cutting-edge instrument repair facility, after-school music education programs, and a used instrument sales program all of which support the groups primary mission: providing access to music for kids.

Since its inception, the Foundation has grown to serve hundreds of students and families and has increased in size to include 15 full and part-time employees. Scot Keefer, Vice-President and Director of Instrument Programs says “We could not be more proud of the support we have received from the community. Music is a vital part of everyone’s lives, and we strongly feel the need to do all we can to ensure that every child who wants to learn will have the chance. Our continued growth is proof that we are serving a real need, and we are thrilled about the future and the potential to help many more kids and families.”
