The Marietta/Cobb Continuum of Care Rebrands and Unveils New Website to Strengthen Community Awareness of Homelessness

The Marietta/Cobb Continuum of Care, is excited to announce a significant milestone in its journey towards positive community impact. Today, the organization unveils a refreshed brand identity, including a name change to better reflect its mission, and the launch of a cutting-edge website designed to enhance accessibility and engagement.

New Name, Same Commitment: Cobb Homeless Alliance

The name change and rebrand aims to promote its community-wide commitment to the goal of ending homelessness, provide funding for efforts by nonprofit providers and State and local governments to quickly rehouse homeless individuals and families while minimizing the trauma and dislocation caused to homeless individuals, families, and communities by homelessness. Additionally, the rebrand aims to promote access to and effective utilization of mainstream programs by homeless individuals and families, optimizing self-sufficiency among those experiencing homelessness.

A Digital Hub for Impact: Introducing CobbHomelessAlliance.org

Accompanying the rebrand is the launch of the organization’s new website, CobbHomelessAlliance.org. This user-friendly digital platform serves as a central hub, connecting individuals, organizations, and stakeholders in a collective effort to combat homelessness and uplift those in need. The website features enhanced functionality, providing visitors with resources, data, opportunities to engage and stories of hope.

“As members of the Marietta/Cobb Continuum of Care, it is our goal to provide members of our community who may be experiencing homelessness with accessible means to find the housing resources and vital services they deserve,” said Kelsey Thompson-WhiteCDBG Program Office City of Marietta and incoming Board Chair of Cobb Homeless Alliance. “Our new website connects members directly with such resources in a manner that is user-friendly and welcoming.”

Get Involved: Join Cobb Homeless Alliance in Making a Difference

Volunteers are needed on January 25, 2024, for the upcoming 2024 Point-in-Time (PIT) Count, an annual count of all homeless populations in Cobb County. Cobb Homeless Alliance volunteers will conduct short surveys with as many of the individuals counted as possible to gather demographic information and more detailed characteristics about the homeless population in the area. Training for PIT count volunteers will be scheduled earlier in January.

About the Point-in-Time (PIT) Count

Under the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Continuum of Care organizations, including Cobb Homeless Alliance, are key participants in the annual PIT count and provides a snapshot of the types and number of homeless populations in the area, identifies the need for various types of shelter, determines the capacity of the system to meet the need for shelter and supporting services, and provides a basis for allocating limited resources to meet such needs.
