Tropical Smoothie Café Opens First Cobb Location

Tropical Smoothie Café, the nation’s largest smoothie café fast casual restaurant concept, announced its first restaurant in Cobb County, Georgia will open today, Wednesday, December 21st. Located off of Chastain Road adjacent to Kennesaw State University, the new Tropical Smoothie Café is locally owned and operated by Meritage Restaurant Group, a family business formed by Cobb County natives Chris & Debbie Pike, Meghan Cook & Taylor Pike. The café will celebrate the opening with 99-cent smoothies all day (limit one per person).

“We’re thrilled to be opening Cobb’s first Tropical Smoothie Café,” said Chris Pike. “The demand for healthier food and smoothies is growing and we are pleased to offer the Kennesaw community our fresh, made-to-order menu.”

Tropical Smoothie Café promotes a healthier lifestyle by offering real-fruit smoothies, wraps, sandwiches, flatbreads, and salads including signature items such as the Chipotle Chicken Club flatbread, Buffalo Chicken wrap and Island Green Smoothie, which features spinach, kale, mango, pineapple and banana. The Kennesaw café will be a part of a national chain with more than 500 locations nationwide and will initially open with 25 new employees.

Meritage Restaurant Group was founded to create opportunities for employees, enhance guests’ experiences, and serve local communities. The Kennesaw café is the first location to open and the group plans to open 9 more cafés in Cobb and Cherokee Counties.
