Marietta Mayor Steve Tumlin is proclaiming May 28th American Legion Day! To celebrate, American Legion Post 29 will be hosting the Veterans Memorial 5K on the Marietta Square. All proceeds from this race go to support American Legion charities that benefit Veterans and their families in Georgia.
The 5K Run/Walk begins at 7:30 a.m., the 1K Run/Walk begins at 8:30 a.m. and the Tot Trot, for runners 5 and under, begins at 8:45. Following the race will be an awards ceremony with food and beverages provided. Then stick around for a Military Appreciation Celebration in the square! There will be plenty of events all honoring our heroes past and present.
Registration by May 2 is $25, and $30 through May 26. Runners are also able to register on race day with cash or check only for $35. To sign up for this race or to donate and help support American Legion charities click here.
