VETLANTA is holding its first Veteran and Military Spouse Hiring Event May 31st at the Kennesaw National Guard Armory! The event is 100% FREE to invited Job Seekers and Employers alike and we would love to have you there! We just need a few things first…
- Employers, please bring a hiring manager that can provide advice, feedback and mentorship to Veteran and Military Spouse candidates. We aren’t asking you to hire or interview on the spot, although we won’t say no to that. We understand that potential employees will more than likely need to apply online for the positions but we want them to have a POC and we want them to have the opportunity to speak with the HR person to see if they would be a good fit.
- You must have open positions (for the bigger companies, we know you always have positions open so it’s not as big a concern); and if you could, please provide a short list of some of the types of positions so we can let the Veterans and Spouses know what type of jobs there will be.
- Be prepared for a huge variety of Veterans; there are more than 9M Veterans in the state of GA and we will be inviting them from all over, including the very recently graduating Student Veterans!
The number one thing we always hear from Veterans after attending a job/career/hiring fair is that they never hear back from the companies or that the companies there weren’t even hiring. For the most part, we know that hiring fairs have turned more into networking events but that’s not what we’re trying to accomplish here. We want to provide an arena where the Veterans can meet with companies that are actively seeking people to hire and discuss the possibilities with them.
Before registering, the Veterans and Spouses will be made aware of the types of companies that will in attendance. We will also make sure they are aware that they shouldn’t expect to be hired on the spot, but to be put in touch with the person who makes that decision so that after applying online they can connect.
