Month-long initiative kicks off fifth Good is everywhere celebration of service and community impact.

As food insecurity continues to affect families across Florida and Georgia, VyStar Credit Union is inviting members, employees and the community to help make a difference through its Good Starts Here Food Drive, collecting nonperishable food donations throughout August to help our neighbors experiencing food insecurity.
From August 1-31, donations of nonperishable food items can be brought to any VyStar branch location. Contributions will support local food banks and hunger relief organizations throughout the communities VyStar serves.
“Food insecurity affects families in so many communities, and together we have an opportunity to make a real difference,” said VyStar SVP/Foundation President Patricia McElroy. “Every can, every box and every donation helps ensure our neighbors have access to the food they need. The Good Starts Here Food Drive makes it easy for our members and communities to turn compassion into action.”
The Good Starts Here Food Drive launches VyStar’s fifth annual Good is everywhere celebration, marking five years of service, volunteerism, and community impact. Each year, nearly all of VyStar’s more than 2,000 employees participate in the initiative. Since its inception, Good is everywhere has also provided more than 65,000 free community experiences that have strengthened the communities we serve.
Support the food drive by donating: peanut butter, canned soup, canned fruit, canned vegetables, canned beans, pasta, rice, and other shelf stable pantry items.
For food safety, please donate only unopened, nonperishable food items. Perishable foods, expired items, homemade foods and damaged or opened packages cannot be accepted.
Every donation collected through the Good Starts Here Food Drive will stay local, helping nonprofit organizations and food banks provide meals and hope to families across Florida and Georgia.
Join VyStar in helping fight hunger by bringing food donations to any VyStar branch between August 1-31. View a complete list of locations and donations details here.
