WellStar Health System announced a new senior leader joining its ranks. As the new vice president of Talent Acquisition, Sonya Aldy will support the not-for-profit’s mission of delivering world-class healthcare to patients by building and retaining a team of skilled team members.
“We are fortunate to have Sonya here all the way from Texas to help WellStar attract skilled nurses and team members, and keep them,” said David Anderson, WellStar executive vice president of Human Resources, Organizational Learning and chief compliance officer. “Sonya will focus on developing the skilled workforce WellStar needs to deliver world-class healthcare to patients in communities across Atlanta.”
Aldy will oversee the development and execution of WellStar’s talent acquisition strategies to ensure an optimal workforce. She also will be responsible for the recruitment, hiring and on-boarding of WellStar team members.
Aldy brings nearly 20 years of recruitment and staffing leadership experience to WellStar. She most recently served as division director of Talent Acquisition for Methodist Healthcare System in San Antonio, Texas. She helped increase overall new hires by 63 percent and new registered nurse hires by 32 percent in four years. She also served as an executive recruiter for PeopleScout and recruiting manager for both Honeywell International and Cisco Systems.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in advertising from the University of Texas at Austin and is an AIRS Certified behavioral interviewer, internet recruiter and diversity recruiter.
