New head spa combines luxury relaxation, scalp wellness, and specialized hair-preservation services
Willow River Head Spa will celebrate its Grand Opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, September 17 at 11:00 a.m. at 2997 Johnson Ferry Road in East Cobb.
Founded by Sara Lewis, a longtime retail leader whose 20-year career with Target and The Home Depot was rooted in customer service, Willow River pairs luxurious care with an intentional, personalized approach to scalp and hair wellness.
The inspiration for Willow River began just over a year ago, during a demanding season in Lewis’s own life. Constant stress led to noticeable hair thinning, followed by products, supplements, and hopes that the latest TikTok “miracle cure” might spark hair growth again. Trying a head spa for the first time, Lewis saw her scalp under magnification, which put an end to the guesswork and changed her entire approach: to address the hair, you first need to consider where it’s growing from. Seeing positive changes over time — along with discovering a new way to routinely disconnect and focus on herself — led Lewis to study scalp care more deeply, complete specialized training, and visit head spas across the country, learning from owners and exploring various business approaches.
Two foundational beliefs emerged: healthy hair starts at the scalp, and self-care is essential rather than an occasional indulgence. Designed to go beyond the traditional head spa, Willow River combines relaxation with results through personalized, intentional scalp wellness and hair care — while providing a place for people to routinely and unapologetically prioritize themselves.
Willow River’s team includes master cosmetologists and a trichologist specializing in the science of the hair and scalp. Head spa services take place in private suites and combine magnified scalp analysis and targeted products with aromatherapy, exfoliation, warm steam, cleansing, and upper body massage. A private two-bed suite allows couples, friends, and family to enjoy the experience together.
For guests concerned about hair thinning or persistent scalp conditions, Willow River offers its Revive Hair Preservation Program, leveraging the Becon scalp scanning device. Becon uses AI to measure 18 hair and scalp factors, helping personalize a plan that combines targeted products with advanced technologies including red light therapy and high-frequency follicle renewal. Repeat scans and imaging provide objective before-and-after measurements to track progress.
The September 17 ribbon-cutting will include spa tours, scalp analysis and head spa demonstrations, refreshments, and a branded take-home gift for attendees.
