You’re Invited! 20 West Intermodal Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

The City of Powder Springs will take part in a May 27 ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating the first of two tenants set to occupy the 20 West Intermodal facility, with the two combining to bring approximately 110 jobs by year’s end.

About 40 of the employees coming to the facility off Highway 278 and Lewis Road will be employed by DP Wagner, a consumer products and fulfillment company providing third-party distribution for select products. The company is a leader in the manufacture and distribution of private label drywall patch kits, and a distributor of other products for major retailers throughout the country.

Officials with DP Wagner will attend and take part in the 2 p.m. ceremony, as will representatives of Native Development Group LLC, which developed the facility with its partner, a real estate fund advised by Crow Holdings Capital. At nearly 347,000 square feet, the facility has 36-foot clear heights and 7-inch slabs with ample auto, truck dock and trailer parking areas. Its location is 2.5 miles from the Norfolk Southern Intermodal in Austell and provides quick access to Interstate 20.

City officials previously took part in the groundbreaking ceremony for 20 West Intermodal in October 2022. The City Council as part of its 2021 approval of the developer’s annexation of the majority of the development’s acreage placed 27 stipulations on the project, with many aimed at minimizing impact to residents in the area. Had Native not pursued annexation with Powder Springs, it could have pursued development without being bound by any stipulations.

A second tenant coming to the facility this year is a significant distributor of restaurant food and supplies. The company currently has 70 employees in its current facility that is relocating from the Fulton Industrial market. The company’s use of the facility will be aimed at serving the Georgia/Florida markets, and it expects to be fully operating by the end of 2025.
