Innovative marketing agency 524 Creative announced today that it won four Davey Awards from the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts (AIVA). The Marietta agency was named a Gold Winner for development of the website for Blue Sky Exhibits, as well as a Silver Winner for the design of the Town Center CID’s logo and annual report, and as a Silver Winner for a social media campaign for Henry’s Louisiana Grill. The 13th annual Davey Awards showcases small agencies that exhibit excellence in websites, video, mobile, design, social media, advertising and marketing.
With nearly 4,000 entries from across the US and around the world, the Davey Awards honors the finest creative work from the best small agencies, firms, and companies worldwide. Winning entries are selected by the AIVA, a membership-based organization of leading professionals from various disciplines of the visual arts dedicated to embracing progress and the evolving nature of traditional and interactive media. The winners of the Davey Awards are distinguished for their excellence in creative work, and they reflect a strategic direction for the industry as a whole.
524 Creative collaborated with Blue Sky Exhibits, a leader in the booming field of experiential marketing, to win the Davey’s gold award—its top honor—for the development of the exhibit company’s new website: www.blueskyexhibits.com. Blue Sky Exhibits created their own business model to design, build, store and manage trade show booths that range from 10×10 portable units to 100 square-foot spaces. They are dedicated to forging long-term relationships with their clients, some of whom include Delta Airlines, SanMar and Fruit of the Loom. Blue Sky Exhibits’ capabilities also extend to permanent corporate interiors, such as the Atlanta locations of Warby Parker and Jimmy Choo, and even to set design for feature films such as The Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul.
The Blue Sky Exhibits website gives visitors a peek at what a relationship with the firm could look like: easy, exciting, and effective. The home page inspires potential clients to “Own the Floor,” as the visuals guide visitors through their wide spectrum of services. The site’s design is clean and modern, featuring a gallery-style page that displays their impressive portfolio of work and showcases the full breadth of their style and substance. The firm’s well-known superiority in visual design and construction is reflected in the site’s large, impactful images and intuitive user experience.
“What I love about our website is that it really shows off the work that we do. Embarking on this project with 524 Creative was such an enjoyable collaboration because we have a similar understanding of the value and integration of marketing and design. They created a website that is image-driven, easy to navigate, and makes you want to see more,” said Tim Kelley, COO of Blue Sky Exhibits.
“The impact of the website has exceeded our expectations,” said Don Keller, CEO of Blue Sky Exhibits. “The response we have gotten from current and potential clients has been incredible. We have never been busier! The site was a huge element of our new marketing initiatives with 524 Creative, which included launching an updated brand at the beginning of the year. While we always remain focused on our core values of creativity, quality and service, I cannot deny that the timing of these efforts was uncanny; we were named Cobb Chamber’s Small Business of the Year a few months later. We are very grateful to have 524 Creative on our team and are thrilled for this recognition.”
In addition to taking home the Davey’s highest honor for website design, 524 Creative also won two Silver Davey Awards for their work on the logo and annual report for the Town Center CID. The logo features a prismatic design that represents a virtual pin, similar to what you would find on a GPS mapping application, which accompanies the CID’s goal of putting Town Center “on the map.” The logo’s modern, professional look includes vibrant colors that echo key components of the area, including elements of commerce, nature, education and creativity. 524 Creative was also recognized for their achievement in designing and developing content for the organization’s 2017 annual report, a printed piece that reinforces the CID’s brand, as well as highlights its influence in the community in the areas of development, economic impact, greenspace, infrastructure and place-making.
A third Silver Davey recognizes 524 Creative’s proficiencies in social media and engagement strategies. When Henry’s Louisiana Grill, an independently-owned restaurant in Acworth Georgia, was getting ready to film a segment for the Travel Channel, 524 Creative created a post on Facebook that reached over 40,000 users and brought hundreds of people to the taping of the event. The restaurant’s Facebook page now has over 31,000 followers.
April Wright, Principal and Chief Strategist of 524 Creative says, “We are thrilled the Davey Awards honored these projects! It is always rewarding to work collaboratively with our clients to create things that make them more successful, whether it’s building greater brand awareness or driving sales through social media. After 12 years in business, we wouldn’t be where we are today without our long-standing client relationships. We are extremely grateful to them for the opportunity to do what we love.”
