Marietta City Schools Superintendent Dr. Emily Lembeck and Cobb County School District Superintendent Fred Sanderson will be the guest speakers at the Cobb Chamber of Commerce’s First Monday Breakfast on Nov.1 at 7:30 a.m.
Lembeck and Sanderson will discuss the quality of teachers, the biggest challenges that face school systems today and various other parts of academia as they relate to Cobb County and Marietta City Schools Systems.
Lembeck assumed the office of Marietta City Schools Superintendent on July 1, 2005, becoming just the 12th superintendent, and first female superintendent, in the system’s 113-year history, leading the Marietta City Schools’ 12 schools, approximately 8,000 students and 1,300 employees.
Sanderson re-joined the Cobb County School District in January 2006 as superintendent. He has served in a variety of roles at both the local school level and as a central office administrator throughout the course of his career. Before his current role, his experience ranged from an economics teacher and head football coach to the chief academic officer (2001-2002) for the school district.
The breakfast is being held at the Atlanta Marriott Northwest off of the Windy Hill Road Exit off I-75, just north of I-285.
Cost to attend for Cobb Chamber members is $20 online and $35 at the door. General admission is $50. Online registration and refunds close on Thursday, Oct. 28 at noon. Register Now.
