Jan’s Hair Boutique has been styling Marietta for over 30 years. As a faith-based salon, it has always been our mission to uplift the spirit of each woman one hairstyle at a time! It’s not just about styling hair, we style with a purpose, by caring and sharing. We genuinely care about each woman and set out to uplift the spirit and enhance the whole woman from the inside out.
It is that mission that led us to reach outside the salon walls and create an outreach effort called “Styling With a Purpose”. I decided instead of reinventing the wheel we would partner with a nonprofit organization that was already working to improve the quality of life of other women. We decided to partner with Sheltering Grace Ministry, a non-profit organization that provides maternity home care for women and their babies who are in crisis, by creating a toiletry donation drive. We opened this outreach opportunity to our clients as well, and they were ecstatic about the opportunity to give!
It has proven to be an AWESOME outreach effort. We collected well over 100 toiletry items and were able to donate $300.00. This effort was so well received by our clients that it is our goal to make “Styling With a Purpose” an annual outreach opportunity. I would love to challenge other small businesses to do the same by partnering with other non-profit organizations that are positively impacting the lives of others.
