The College of Continuing and Professional Education at KSU has announced an additional offering to its Human Resources Management SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP program. The new course will run on Saturdays, giving students another option to the previously established Thursday evening class. The first class will be held on Sept. 26. Classes will run every other Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at KSU Center.
Earlier this year, SHRM (The Society for Human Resource Management) unveiled a new pair of credentials – SHRM Certified Professional (SHRMCP ℠) and SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP℠) – presenting individuals an opportunity for career growth.
“For HR professionals looking to further their careers, this would be an excellent step to take to show you have a commitment to the profession,” said Lisa Hughes, instructor. “This class will help students keep their knowledge and skills up to date and use what they have acquired in the past to apply that to move our businesses forward in a new way.”
“What makes these new credentials unique is for the first time they focus on teaching and testing the practical real-life information today’s professionals need,” said Jennifer Henderson, program manager. “These certifications aren’t about what you know but how you do it.”
Several forms of financial aid are available including VA Education Benefits, WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act) Funding and employee education vouchers. Additionally, the course is scheduled to finish in time for the certification exam testing window of Dec. 1-Feb. 15. More information can be found at ccpe.kennesaw.edu or by calling 470-578-6765.
