Leadership Cobb Chooses Its 2012 Class

Leadership Cobb, the Cobb Chamber of Commerce’s leadership development program, has selected the participants for its 2011 – 2012 class. More than 200 people were nominated for the program that started this fall and runs through spring 2012.

            Leading the Class of 2012 are Co-Chairs Judy Skeel of Cobb County Government and Chris Whitmire of the Marietta Fire Department, along with Vice Co-Chairs Steve Byrne of Mauldin & Jenkins, LLP and Cheryl Musial of MopDog Creative + Strategy.

Class members were selected from business, industry, education, government and other professions as well as from volunteer, civic and religious organizations.

”Leadership Cobb is one of the Chamber’s most elite and prestigious leadership programs,” said Michele Bickerstaff, Manager of Leadership Programs at the Cobb Chamber. “The program develops regional leaders while fostering professional and personal relationships between participants and alumni to the benefit of the community.”

Since the program’s orientation on Aug. 3, the class has had its fall retreat at Brasstown Valley Resort on Aug. 31 through Sept. 2 and its Public Safety program on Sept. 15.

Beginning in 1983, Leadership Cobb is a premier leadership development program in the state of Georgia. Educationally based, the program engages participants with the community, current issues, as well as social, political and economic needs of Cobb County.
