Sandy Springs Construction Firm Albion Scaccia Wins Honors for Atlanta Motorsports Park Business Conference Center Project

Albion Scaccia, a commercial construction company providing full service design, build and construction management solutions, has been awarded a 2016 Build Georgia Award by the Associated General Contractors of Georgia (AGC) and a 2016 Project Achievement Award from the Construction Management Association of America South Atlantic Chapter (CMAA) for its Atlanta Motorsports Park Business Conference Center project. Albion Scaccia was the Construction Manager at Risk on the project, which was completed in October 2015.

Atlanta Motorsports Park selected Albion Scaccia for construction of a new 21,000 square foot, two-story clubhouse in Dawsonville, Georgia. Providing panoramic views of the track, as well as offices, conference rooms, show rooms and a snack bar, the two-story facility was completed on  time, within budget and with an exceptional safety record, all despite severe weather delays. Construction took place during some of the worst rains and flooding Atlanta had seen in recent memory, but Albion Scaccia’s hyper-focus on project management and the project timeline kept this clubhouse construction running smoothly.

“Albion Scaccia understood that our business conference center had to complement the world-class motorsports experience our members and their guests have on the track, and they delivered an excellent product,” said Jeremy Porter, CEO – Atlanta Motorsports Park. “The construction team kept us apprised of progress throughout the project and met our unmovable deadline in spite of weather delays.”

Albion Scaccia received its first place AGC Build Georgia award June 11 at the AGC annual convention in Hilton Head, South Carolina. This coveted construction industry award is given annually to Georgia’s most outstanding construction projects since 1989, recognizing firms that not only build attractive structures, but also overcome challenges, demonstrate innovation in construction techniques and materials, excellence in project management and an overarching dedication to client service.

Albion Scaccia received a top New Construction and Program Management for projects under $10 million award June 14 at the CMAA South Atlantic Chapter’s Annual Gala and Project Achievement Awards Banquet in Atlanta. Albion Scaccia is among more than 600 chapter members from Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee.

“We are proud that two of the leading construction industry associations have recognized our work on the Atlanta Motorsports Park business conference center as an example of construction excellence,”said Brian Newsome, executive vice president – Albion Scaccia. “More importantly, these awards are acknowledgement of our team’s hyper focus on doing what needs to be done to meet our clients’ needs.”

Albion Scaccia has been a member of AGC for several years and Newsome serves on its Board of Directors. Member firms from around the state perform a majority of the public and private commercial construction work in Georgia and include over 500 of the top general contractors, residential/light commercial builders, construction managers, design builders, municipal-utility contractors, heavy and highway contractors, specialty contractors, service providers, and suppliers.
