Despite the toll the economy has taken on America’s small businesses, local painting contractor Steve Swetmon is celebrating 30 years of success since founding SCS Paint Contracting in 1979. Starting as a minimum wage painter, Swetmon built SCS Paint from a small, single employee company in Marietta, GA to a full service paint contracting company that offers services across 10 states.
“As a young man, painting just kind of fell into my lap as a way to earn some extra cash,” said Swetmon, president and founder of SCS Paint Contracting. “It soon became a dream of mine to open up a business of my own. I’m so proud to approach the anniversary of SCS Paint and can only contribute my success to the hard work of my employees and the wonderful people who have enlisted our services over the years.”
In 2000 Swetmon expanded SCS Paint when he opened a second location in Orlando, Florida and has since grown his service line to include not only single and multi family residential painting, but services to industrial and commercial buildings, drywall, specialty caulking, wall coverings, floor coatings, surface finishing, water and sandblasting, carpentry repairs, and re-paints.
