The Georgia Ballet to Hold Free Dance Classes for the Community on National Dance Day

The Georgia Ballet will hold a celebration for National Dance Day with an open house and free classes on July 30.

Workshops will be offered from all day long. Genres include ballet, jazz, hip-hop, contemporary and tap. There is something for all age groups starting as young as 3 and going all the way up to adults. Adults will have the chance to sample Barre Fusion and Zumba classes. The event is a way for The Georgia Ballet to allow the community to help in honoring a day dedicated to dance. There will also be games, Perhaps a Wrap food truck and desserts.

The celebration will allow the community to see The Georgia Ballet studios, meet the faculty and try dance classes for free. For those wanting to peruse dance as a career, there will be the opportunity at TIME to participate in an open audition for The Georgia Ballet’s Pre-Professional program. The School of The Georgia Ballet offers a wide variety of classes in a flexible schedule for those looking to dance recreationally.
