Treat Your Favorite Valentine to ‘What the World Needs Now’ with GSO Jazz! at the Strand

The Georgia Symphony’s GSO Jazz! combo is performing ‘What the World Needs Now’ at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 17, 2024, at the Earl and Rachel Smith Strand Theater in Marietta, Ga. 

An exclusive, pre-show VIP Valentine’s Day package in the Strand’s Lumiere Lounge is also available to make the evening even sweeter for you and your special someone. The package includes a free cocktail, long-stem rose, delicious hors d’oeuvres and dessert spreads, and a meet-and-greet with members of GSO Jazz!, including a private performance. 

Celebrating two of America’s most gifted songwriters, Burt Bacharach and Hal David, musical selections will include iconic hits such as ‘What the World Needs Now,’ ‘The Look of Love,’ ‘Close to You,’ ‘This Guy’s in Love With You,’ ‘Walk on By,’ ‘Alfie’ and many more.

Joining GSO Jazz! Music Director and saxophonist Sam Skelton onstage will be Tim Auçoin on bass, John David on drums, Mace Hibbard on saxophones, Randy Hoexter on piano, Rob Opitz on trumpet and Trey Wright on guitar. Georgia native and rising-star Auyrian Tillman is the featured vocalist.
