Akers Mill Chick-fil-A Celebrates Team Leader Vickey Kelley’s 30 Years of Service

If you want to know how long the Chick-fil-A at Akers Mill Shopping Center has been there, ask Vickey when you see her smiling face every week day morning. Vickey Kelley started working for Marshall McCabe, the owner/operator of the location, on April 1, 1996– 30 years ago this month! The store itself opened a little more than a year prior to that. Vickey has been the steady hand supporting the morning shift for that entire time.

Vickey grew up in Atlanta, and her and her husband Gregg live in College Park. Vickey loves all things ATL, especially Chick-fil-A. “I enjoy greeting and serving our customers, some of who I’ve been seeing several times a week for many, many years,” Vickey said. “And our team here at Akers Mill, Cumberland Mall and Truist Park, make coming to work every day fun and rewarding.”

Everyone who works with Marshall McCabe understands the special relationship he has with Vickey. “While we have a good many Team Members who have been here long-term, Vickey has been here almost the entire time with me,” McCabe said. “She is here every week day morning opening. She’s had times where she was the only one and she made the biscuits, cooked the chicken, made the coffee and still opened on time to serve our guests.  She cares and I care so much for her.”

McCabe adds, “Come by Chick-fil-A at Akers Mill to see our morningTeam Leader, Vickey, and give her a big congratulations for doing this job in our community for 30 years!”
